The Routes
Check out the options for this year’s event below. Each route features support and aid stations, scenic views, and plenty of fresh air. Please note that the routes may be subject to change as we get closer to the date.
This course is flat and fast with a slight twist – almost no pavement! The 5k will be traversing open grass fields and dirt roads. The greatest benefit is that there is absolutely “no traffic”. The entire course is contained within the farm. So, suit up and bring your favorite superhero costume if you like and enjoy! One aid station will support this distance.
A good mixture of flat/fast and some climbing. Scenic racecourse set on dirt roads and some trail with a great double track section. Come prepared to challenge yourself. Three aid stations will support this distance.
Plenty of scenery along country roads. Please come prepared for the hills. Roads will be open to local traffic. Everyone must wear a helmet and feel comfortable with riding on open roads. Some Police will be present.
This course is beautiful but has some hills that you will want to train for. We will have plenty of support for you along the route as well as staff and volunteers to cheer you on.
This will be a challenging ride on country roads and remember it’s called Chattahoochee Hills for a reason! Our SAG vehicles and rest stops will be there to provide support along the way.
The perfect opportunity to cross off that Metric Century! Each course will provide country roads, rest stops, and plenty of support from our amazing staff and volunteers. We strongly suggest some good training miles pre-event that will prepare you for the hills south of Atlanta.
Train hard and challenge yourself! Bring your strong legs for a solid day in the saddle. Plenty of vertical gains over the course of this ride. The 100 mi riders will be supported by at least 5 rest stops stocked with food/beverage that will keep you fueled for the day.
Pre-Event Packet Pick-Up and Event Schedule
Make the day of the event less hectic! Take advantage of our pre-event packet pick-up options – four dates at four different locations – and find the one most convenient for you. Each participant must pick up their own packet and sign a waiver; you may not pick up a packet or sign a waiver for another participant.
Following the pick-up schedule below, you will find start windows for the events on May 1. Please plan to arrive to Bouckaert Farm one hour before your scheduled start window to allow time for parking, eating breakfast, and getting into start lines.
Start windows have been designed to ensure social distancing. We are allowing a 30-minute window of time between each event’s departure. Participants who arrive after the close of their start window may be required to wait to start or even participate in a shorter distance.

FAQS - Planning Your Ride/Walk/Run
Registration for in-person and virtual participation is now open here.
Anyone under 16 must be with their parent or legal guardian at all times. Due to open roads without traffic control, cycling distances are not suitable for children under 14 to participate. Children 13 and under are welcome to participate in the Superhero 5K. Please consider the child’s abilities before registering. Click here for our 2021 Minor Safety Policy.
Most bikes, including recumbent (with flag), tandem, e-bikes, and handcycles are allowed. Motorized vehicles, wheelchairs, tricycles, and scooters are not allowed on any of our routes. Our 5k run/walk course will include surfaces of mostly dirt roads and our 9-mile course will include at least one mile of double track trail. Running strollers that are all-terrain will be allowed on the 5K only, not on the 9-mile course. You may click here for bicycle and stroller guidelines.
No, pets are not allowed at the event.
All routes are achievable with the proper amount of training and physical preparation. You may want to consider consulting a health professional to help determine the best route for you. Please review course links and descriptions.
Yes, VeloCity offers training for cyclists through Zwift. Visit your Zwift companion app on your mobile device and follow “VeloCity Atlanta.” Every follower will receive a Meet Up Invite through the Zwift Companion App. Accept the invite and log in 5 minutes early to join the ride! Here’s a link to preview the scheduled Meet Ups.
Our partner Big Peach Running Co. is helping all VeloCity runners get in shape. Check out their free training sessions at https://www.bigpeachrunningco.com/velocity-5k-9-mile-training-program/
VeloCity is a ride, run, walk event—not a race, and safety is our number one priority. All participants should ride/run/walk at their own pace, noting that our courses close at 5:00 pm. We recommend that you consider the start time of every event to be sure that you can finish before then.
Elevation data and downloadable GPS files can be found using the Ride with GPS link for each route. Please note that you may see slight variations in distance and elevation from one GPS device to another. Routes are also subject to change slightly due to any unexpected construction or other unavoidable conditions.
If you decide you would like to ride, run, or walk a distance different than what you originally registered for, please contact support@velocityatlanta.com.
Support and Gear (SAG) vehicles will track riders, runners, and walkers on all routes and provide support as needed. Rest stops will be located every 10 to 12 miles for cyclists and include hydration, snacks, mechanical support, medical support, and restrooms. Run/walk routes will have water stops. Our event app (coming soon) will track your miles and provide information and updates along your route.
Safety is the number one priority for VeloCity. First and foremost, all riders are required to wear a helmet. VeloCity is a Rules of the Road ride, meaning the roads are open to car traffic, and all riders are required to follow the same laws as vehicles/drivers (e.g., stopping at stop signs and traffic lights, signaling when passing). We will be riding on open country roads. If you feel uncomfortable with that style of riding, please join us for the run/walk 5K or 9-mile challenge. For a list of safety tips, visit https://georgiabikes.org/resources/education-programs/safe-cycling-tips/.
You will receive the following when you register to participate:
Tracking through our event app
Pre-ride/run/walk grab-and-go breakfast
Pre-ride bike tune-up
Music
Food and drinks, including free beer and wine for participants 21 and older. (Please Note: We will follow all COVID safety precautions, including serving pre-packaged, grab-and-go lunch meals and offering plenty of space to spread out for picnics and games/activities.)
Added Activity for All Participants
Our 5K Course will be open after 11:00 am for Riders, Runners, and Walkers of all ages!
